Snow and bad weather
Our primary concern in the event of heavy snow or extreme bad weather is the safety of pupils and staff. The decision as to whether or not to send a pupil to school, however, must be at the discretion of the parents, taking into account factors such as local road conditions and the availability of child-care. The decision to close the academy will take account of the safety of all our pupils and staff, some of whom travel a great distance to school each day.
Where can I find out if the academy is shut?
The Head will contact Heart FM, Connect FM, and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire to ask them to broadcast the information. We will also put a notice on our website to state that academy is closed, so please check for updates. If it is possible and practical, we will use Pupil Asset to email and send text messages to parents.
Will the academy shut during the day?
In the event of the academy opening as usual, it will not close during the day. Children will be supervised until the end of the normal school day.
Rainy and cold weather
We aim to go outside to the playground at breaks and lunchtimes if the weather permits. Please can parents ensure that children have appropriate waterproofs, warm coats, shoes for wet/cold weather. Every child should have a rain coat with hood or hat.
