Help your child learn

Homework

In light of the new curriculum and government expectations we have reviewed our homework policy. One of our important whole school targets is to improve spelling and this should be practised at home every night. All children from Year 1 to Year 6 will be set homework on a Thursday which is to be completed and handed in the following Tuesday. In addition we expect all children to practice their times tables, reading and spellings/phonics once a week. We would greatly appreciate your support in helping your child to progress and enjoy learning.

DPS YouTube Channel Maths videos

On our school You Tube Channel you will find videos that will help with learning. Where ever possible we encourage children to use mental methods and jottings to work out calculations and problems. With certain numbers this is not possible, and it is these methods we teach within our lessons.

You can view an example video on Year 4-6 long multiplication below. Visit our YouTube Channel for more!
